Spokane!

If it seems like the posts lately are all about traveling.. you would be right. Since Tony and I are doing the long distance thing, every time we visit each other seems like a vacation. A very, very rushed vacation. Last weekend I was very lucky to fly to Spokane to see Tony. The hour flight was a million times better than the six hour drive. Tony drove up to Spokane (about 70 or 80 miles from Pullman) to pick me up from the airport. We had dinner in Spokane and did some Christmas shopping. It was great to just go out on a date. I know that when Tony and I were able to see each other every day (way back in April) I totally took it for granted. I'm so grateful for every date we get to have now!

The rest of the weekend consisted of watching movies, more shopping, and attending Tony's holiday party/white elephant gift exchange for work. I got to meet some of his coworkers and eat some delicious food. We ended up coming home with some "wonder hangers" from the gift exchange. Tony was nice enough to let me try them for my closet.. and they really helped! First useful white elephant gift I've ever received.

We hope that you travel safely through the holidays and have a very Merry Christmas!

Love,
Tony and Adrianna

hello seattle

Tony and I had an opportunity to meet up for a weekend in Seattle. I had never been there before so we enjoyed a very rainy Saturday sight-seeing. We had a blast! We went to Pike's Place Market, did some shopping, took a ferry ride, and ate dinner right along the waterfront. Unfortunately...the camera died early on Saturday. Althogh there aren't many pictures, we mad a lot of memories. Weekends with Tony are what I live for during this long-distance engagement!

Engagement Party

Better late than never right? Wow, it's been a while since a post. Life has been pretty busy for the both of us. Here are some pictures from the engagement party that Tony's family hosted in the beginning of October. We really enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends. It was a great night!

So fun to be with our familes! We love you!

The Parsons come to visit

My parents came to visit last weekend! We had a wonderful time and the weather was just superb. It was cool and crisp, the air was clear, and the fall colors were beginning to show. They came to attend the engagement party that Tony's family held for us, and to officially meet Tony's parents. I'll post some pictures of the party when I get my hands on them.

My parents flew in to town on Friday night and left early on Sunday morning, so I tried to pack in a very full day for them on Saturday. We started the morning at the Beaverton Farmer's Market.

Look at the colorful leaves! We had so much fun looking through all of the fresh produce and tasting samples. Mostly we had fun eating. We bought fresh pastries, fresh cider, hot breakfast sandwiches with Tillamook cheese, and cookies, caramels, and kettle corn to snack on later. My parents also helped me pick out some pumpkins. It was a great way to start the day.

The next stop on our itinerary was the Portland Rose Garden. There were so many roses! We took lots of pictures and had a great time walking through the aisles and smelling the different roses. We also enjoyed a lovely view of downtown Portland from the garden.

Tony met up with us at the rose garden and then we walked across the street to Portland's Japanese garden. It was so pretty. I absolutely loved it. The pictures don't capture the beauty and depth of the lush and serene garden. It is supposed to be the most authentic Japanese garden outside of Japan.

Tony likes the rock garden the best. I'd love to watch the people creating the designs. It is such a neat art form.

After visiting the gardens, we drove to Pittock mansion. It's a touristy spot where you can get some of the best views of Portland. We also went inside the mansion and had fun touring through the different rooms and the unique layout of the house.

Here is the view of Mt. Hood from the mansion. We had such a fabulous day together. Thanks for coming to visit mom and dad!

Happiness is...

Pumpkin spice steamer from Starbucks. Pumpkin scone. Driving through a canopy of trees with Tony. Rainy fall morning in Oregon. Stacked pumpkins. Climbing a pyramid of hay with Rocky. Exploring a new bridge.

All of the above equal... my Saturday morning date with my favorite person in the whole wide world :)

For Tony...

We saw this on our way to take engagement pictures downtown. Needless to say... Tony got a bit excited :) Tony and I hope to catch a few games at the Rose Garden this season. We can't wait!

Bridal Shower!

For the short week that I was in Utah after my internship ended and before I came out to Portland I had the chance to spend time with friends! Two of my good friends, Anna and Tanei, threw a bridal shower for me. It was seven months before the wedding, but it was so wonderful to celebrate with friends that I love and miss so much. Here are some pictures from the shower:

One of the games was a contest of making wedding dresses out of toilet paper!

It was a great afternoon with delicious food and a lot of laughter. Thanks again Anna and Tanei! I have the best friends :)

I survived the move..

Over the last month I've been moving in to my new place in Portland. Tony and I were able to be reunited after almost two months of not seeing each other! That was the best part :)

My mom helped me drive my things in a U-haul from Provo to Portland. While in town, she was also able to meet Tony's parents and his sweet sister Amy and her family. Tony and I also found a wedding photographer and took engagement pictures. The first weekend went by too quickly and I had to face the reality of a room with no furniture and plenty of boxes to be unpacked. But here I am, emerging from a now unpacked room with everything that I need but a job... That will hopefully be remedied soon :)

Here is a picture from the moving weekend. My mom and I drove to Pullman, WA to surprise Tony instead of taking two days to drive to Portland. It was so much fun to knock on his apartment door to see him open it with his expression of complete surprise and bewilderment.

Two months was way too long to be apart! More updates soon!

Tony's Disneyland Birthday

While I was in California, Tony visited me for his birthday weekend. We had a blast together at Disneyland on his birthday. He got the royal treatment with a free ticket into the park and a birthday button. I'm not sure he's ever had so many people wish him a happy birthday in one day. Here are some of my favorite highlights from the day:

Riding the tram to Disneyland. The weather was a little cool and felt perfect for being June 1st!

At the front of Main Street USA

See how there is no one else on our roller coaster car? The park was pretty vacant when we got there in the morning. We were able to do the best rides without lines!

Tony's birthday lunch at the Blue Bayou. We sat right by the water of the Pirates of the Carribean ride. Lunch was delicious and such a wonderful memory :)

Riding Autopia!

In front of Sleeping Beauty's castle.

Best birthday party ever! Well, so far.. :)

We're Engaged!

Welcome to the blog! As one might guess, seeing as I am creating this blog for the two of us, we are engaged! It all happened over the 4th of July weekend when I went to Portland to visit Tony. That Friday night, Tony took us on a date in downtown Portland. I was hoping that he might pop the question in the near future, but due to some comments he had made earlier in the day and his lack of nervousness, I figured I shouldn't get my hopes up.

Tony.. not being nervous :)

We had a lovely dinner at the Portland City Grill. The food was delicious and the view was gorgeous! We were seated right next to the window that overlooked downtown. It was very romantic and in between dinner and dessert, Tony got down on one knee, pulled a beautiful diamond ring from his pocket and proposed! I couldn't breathe! I was smiling and gasping for air. I was just so excited and elated that I was going to be his wife!! I've never had such a rush of happy emotion come over me in that way. It felt surreal now that I look back on it.

So, now we are in the midst of planning a wedding. We've chosen our date to be March 20, 2010 in Portland. I am moving to Portland at the end of this month and Tony is currently in Pullman, Washington. There are lots of fun adventures awaiting us in the near future! Life is good :)
